Who we are

What we collect and why

When you request a free homepage scan or purchase a plan, we collect:

• The website URL you submit. We use this to run the accessibility scan you asked for and to include in the report we send back.
• Your email address. We use this to deliver the scan report and, if you are a subscriber, to send your monthly diff reports. If you received a cold outreach email from us first, your address came from a public source (your company website or a professional directory).
• Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, timestamp. We keep these for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

We do not collect payment card data directly. Payments are processed by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.

What we do with scan results

We scan the URL you provide using a headless browser running against the public, unauthenticated version of your site, the same pages any visitor would reach without logging in. We store the scan results so we can generate your report and, for subscribers, compare each new scan to the previous one. We do not index, publish, or share your scan results with third parties.

Outreach and opt-out

If you receive a cold outreach email from us, it is because we ran a preliminary scan of your publicly accessible site and found findings we thought were worth sharing. To stop receiving email from us, reply with "unsubscribe" and we will remove you immediately. You can also email hello@barrierscan.com directly.

Data retention

Scan reports are kept for 12 months. Contact information for subscribers is kept for as long as the account is active and for 30 days after cancellation. Contact information for free-scan leads is kept for 12 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Third parties

We do not sell or rent your data. We use Stripe for payment processing and Google Workspace for email. Neither sees your scan data. We do not use advertising networks or tracking pixels on this site.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing hello@barrierscan.com. We will confirm deletion within 10 business days.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively apply more permissive uses of your data without notice.
